O.K. So going into the movie I kinda set myself up to not expect too much. Other then being right, I came to a conclusion. Hot chicks are just that, hot chicks. Meagan Fox may be a looker and one may have thought that this movie would prove that she can act, sadly though this is not the case.

The movie had all the basics needed to turn out a decent horror flick but fell short in the talent department. They definitely took a risk using a Hollywood name such as Fox to draw people in solely on image (I didn't think she was a great actress to begin with) and in my opinion failed. When you rely on one star to carry your movie at the box office you generally fail and put that stars career on the burner. If this role was meant to prove whether she can really act then you got your answer within the first few minutes of the movie.

All acting aside, I think they were on to something great with a few good ideas under their belt. If the execution of those ideas were presented in a different manner and the movie maybe a bit darker based on the story line then this could have been a hit regardless of the talent. The writer Diablo Cody has a knack for what he does and has some pretty witty dialogue going on between the characters at times which merits a chuckle here and there but it wasn't enough to save the film. Now considering that this is a "horror" flick I failed to see any frightening scenes at all. Murders weren't shown, it was just the aftermath that was displayed. Effects could have been beefed up a bit and the fact that the main character was possessed they could have really done a lot more with her.

The one thing that upsets me with the movie is that they cast Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia, Mean Girls, Big Love,etc) to play the role of Needy. Putting Fox up against an actress this talented down
plays her even more. Seyfried in my opinion should have played the role of Jennifer which would have made it that much better and more believable. Granted all that was required of Meagan was for her to be hot (pretty easy for her), to be bitchy (was she acting though?) and to seduce a bunch of boys before killing them (again they didn't even show that).
 
Some may argue that this movie will be a cult classic, I say hell no to that one! In no way would I ever compare this movie to any of the greats, even the crapiest of them still make this release a tosser.

When should you watch it? Well don't go wasting your money here, just wait until it comes on t.v. (and only watch it if nothing else is on) Even the news is scarier and more entertaining then this movie!
