REVIEW: Coming straight from France is The March's debut 5-track EP entitled Dead Ends and Blind Spots. This EP is a breath of fresh air in the post-hardcore scene and never gets boring while you listen. The quintet recorded the EP at Electrikbox Studio in September of 2009 and I have to say it has a pretty good recorded production quality about it.
The music is aggressive, in your face and yet at times seems very melodic and offers memorable riffs for all you headbangers. The vocalist Olivier gives a very convincing delivery and doesn't hesitate to show the aggression behind it either. His vocals are probably the most aggressive that I have heard coming from this style of music as well as from anything that I have heard coming out of France. The duel guitar team of Jean-Bastien and Guillaum play their respective instruments quite flawlessly and sounds rather effortless as well. Their distortion and detuned sound is presented in a way that is just enough to keep your attention. When you blend this all in with the rhythmic sections of Julien and Sebastien you are sure to enduce some seasures worldwide.
The band may currently be a bit more underground but I would only expect them to make some headway in the near futur. Keep an eye out for these guys they will definitely keep you guessing what they will be doing next. | Â Â Â Â Â Â Â TRACKLISTING:Â Â 01. Find Some Rest 02. The Yellow Leaf Has Fallen 03.
