Emerging once again from the depths of hell Goatwhore bring us a their latest cd entitled Carving Out The Eyes of God. "Who needs God when you have Satan?" they ask. How in the hell do they keep bringing out such kick ass tunes. They consistantly bring bolts of energy and heart thumping pulses that leave your body buzzing for hours. I have hit a couple of pitts in my time and this cd is one that brings me back to those days, wishing there was a pit nearby that I could jump in and let loose.

The cd starts off by assaulting you without any hesitation and carries through to the end. If you were a fan of Goatwhore in the past then you will be pleased with this release as they have not changed their sound one bit. Their songs are just as brutal and aggressive as before. With tons of memorable riffs, great guitar solos and awesome drumming this release is sure to keep fans wanting more. Ben's vocals are as versatile as a chameleon changing his colors, with his vocals taking over the tune Provoking The Ritual of Death. He is able to make a flawless transition between tracks whether it be guttural death, thrash or raspy black metal he does it all.  Somebody throw the drummer in an asylum please because he goes absolutely insane on this album, check out In legions, I am Wars of Wrath which also happens to be the blackest tune on the cd. The production is also spot on.

My personal faves on this release are Apocalyptic Havoc, Carving Out The Eyes Of God and In Legions, I am War of Wrath. Each have their unique structure and offer something different for us all. I have been fortunate enough to see them play live a few times and know first hand that they emit the same kind of energy on this album as they do during a live performance. I  look forward to their next show in support of this album. What are you waiting for, get off your ass and go get it!!!
